Class Structure

Our program is designed to be easy and flexible!

We understand that people are busy and do not have time to spend countless hours in a classroom.  Our Clinical Phlebotomy program has been designed to provide you the classroom knowledge that you need, the hands-on practice you want, and real-life experience to ensure that you are prepared in a concise and structured manner to be competitive in the healthcare career market today!

The program encompasses lecture and hands-on practice almost every night, keeping your brain and body engaged and eager to learn!

Time well spent - Our program includes two separate learning modules:

  • Classroom experience
  • Clinical experience

The classroom portion spans 7 weeks, and each Monday and Thursday the class will meet at the Centre Lifelink EMS facility.  Here you will be provided 1-2 hours of lecture where you will gain the knowledge required.  You will also spend time honing your skills by practicing needle insertions on manikins and classmates.

After completion of the classroom portion, you will then participate in a 40 hour internship at a local clinical laboratory, working along-side a preceptor - collecting real blood samples on real patients.  Our internships are coordinated with several local laboratory facilities in the Centre Region.  Scheduling is flexible but must occur between 7 am and 5 pm.

Finally, after you have gained both knowledge and experience; you are ready to sit for the National Healthcareer Association Certified Phlebotomist examination.  The exam will be offered through PSI testing facilities.
